The University of Patras (www.upatras.gr) was founded in the city of Patras in 1964 and it began functioning in the academic year 1966-67. UoP is the third largest University in Greece concerning the size of students’ potential, the faculty members, administrative personnel, number of departments, and accredited students titles. It includes 24 Departments, with a large number of sectors and consequently a great range of disciplines, which operate 112 laboratories and 14 clinics fully equipped.
The Department of Economics (www.econ.upatras.gr) was founded in 1985. It is exceptionally well placed to provide leadership in the development and dissemination of sustainable business and management practice, informed by sound economic logic. Faculty members publish their research output in leading economic and business outlets along with their involvement in the policy making mechanisms.
The Learning Technology & Media Centre of the University of Patras (media.upatras.gr) was established in 2014 in order to provide support services to teaching and academic staff in using advanced ICT tools. The main focus is on supporting the e-learning platform eclass.upatras.gr and on the use of video in teaching and research.
